She would make a great service dog. If I or my wife are carrying something and drop it, jasmine will pick it upa and bring it to us till our hands are clear to take it. Also, she can open a fridge and get a beer and then go back and close the door with only one command. She will stay in a car with the door wide open in a parking lot with hundreds of cars and people milling about, without the slightest thought of leaving or exploring. She knows her boundaries and is like talking to a person that listens and yearns to please. She also knows all the basic commands and alot more some have never seen. So, hopefully there will be another season and she'll take first place.By the way, she's a 4 yr old Black lab and Border Collie pond rescue!! Your lack of knowledge about the other dogs and humans in the competition and their background is blaring. It's fine to have your personal favorites, but it is also painfully obvious that you are here to do PR for the three dogs you mention, particularly Preston. Okay, we get it, you are a friend of Laura Nativo's. That's fine, but you lose credibility with your attempt to dismiss all the rest of the dogs. Probably your most telling statement is you referring to the dogs and humans as being "mis-cast." Therein lies the problem and I dare say, you've just outed yourself. Unlike your friends, most of the people and dogs on the show are not in the entertainment industry. Like most Americans, most of the humans in the competition are not professional actors or movie producers looking to further their careers. Many of the dogs in the competition do not have agents and are merely beloved family pets who have never earned a dime for their owners - just like most American dogs. CBS apparently did not have enough faith in dogs to realize that dogs, alone, are enough! No need to cast the Brandy and Beth Joy crazies of the world. There are thousands of remarkable dogs in America, that should have been represented by GAD. The only dogs on that show who embody the all-around characteristics of a "great American dog" are Preston, Star, and Tillman If you do your homework, you'll find that Star actually saved his human mom's life, by warning her owner Bill when his wife's insulin levels were dangerously low. Tillman skateboards and snowboards... is named after a war hero... and, volunteers with his dad Ron at local schools. Last but certainly not least- the little dog and underdog, Preston.. the punk rock pomeranian. Yes, at first glance, he appears to be Paris Hilton's dog's metrosexual boyfriend... but Preston is the antithesis of his pocket-sized stereotype. Preston is bilingual, more than you can say for a lot of this country, incredibly bright... and has been volunteering with mom Laura Nativo at local hospitals, schools, etc for years- long before their debut on reality tv. Preston balances his therapy dog work with acting / modeling gigs... they live a refreshing lifestyle that would inspire most Hollywood humans. If Greatest American Dog had more dogs like Preston, Tillman and Star, it could have lived up to its potential. Hopefully the network execs will actually listen to their viewers for once, and make up for mis-casting in season 2.
